Englewood's First Annual Farmer's Market

Location:65th A Ashland, Greater Deliverance Church

Lindblom Math and Science Academy students would like to introduce a new Farmers' Market in the Englewood Community! This Farmers' Market will provide access to fresh organic produce and for many on the south side of Chicago. No longer will you have to travel far to get organic products. Not only will it be close, but we are working closely with farmers to make certain that the foods provided are culturally appropriate and reasonably priced. Chefs and cooks will be present to provide demonstrations on how to prepare the variety of foods available. The market will be located in 65th S. Ashland, a paved lot at the Greater Deliverance Church, every Thursday From June 19, 2008 to October 30, 2008. It will be an afternoon market, time TBA.

We hope to see you there!

*Restrooms will be available.

"It's very hard to get teenagers to do work, let alone a farmers' market," Jones says. But, she says, "my peers really like it. I know they do, because they do it so well."

"There was a dire need for this program," says Alderman Toni Foulkes

"We need to make it so they're a repository for fruits and vegetables," says Williams.
